Chersoneso Piante
Chersoneso Piante was founded in 2004, revolutionizing the production line of the family company, which until then had been exclusively horticultural, to focus on producing ornamental plants.
In fact, the company is characterized by its remarkable dynamism which, over the years, with research and investments, has expanded its company surface area from the initial 0.25 ha to the current 3 ha, of which 0.9 ha is covered with greenhouse structures.
Starting with the production of ornamental olive trees, the production of different species was subsequently diversified by studying the aptitude for growing in pots in different forms and typologies, trying to better interpret and adapt the natural aptitude of the plants in question.
These years of observations have concentrated the current company production on 4 different species:
- Zanthoxylum Becheyanum;
- Chamaelaucium Uncinatum (Wax Flower);
- Loropetalum Chinense;
- Plumbago Capensis/Auriculata;
Last but not least, the Plumeria, which represents the crown jewel of the company: starting with just a few specimens, today we boast a collection of over 1000 varieties of the Rubra species and 10 very rare botanical species from different continents.
Another distinguishing element of the company is that of combining traditional production techniques with technologically advanced management and organization systems, without prejudice to respect for the quality of the staff's working conditions, first and foremost, and the safeguarding and protection of environment and territory. In fact, the company is located on the Milazzo plain, a fascinating peninsula that is adorned with the archipelago of the Aeolian Islands, on one side, and the Peloritani mountain range on the other, which influence and mitigate the climate, giving the territory a strong vocation for agricultural activity since ancient times. “Golden Chersonese”, from which the company takes its name, was, in fact, the term with which the ancient Greeks defined the plain, in homage to the fertility and richness of its soil.
