These lemons are the fruit of the Massese cultivar, also known as the Massa lemon, and are grown exclusively in the area of the Sorrento Peninsula.
The elliptic fruit is medium to large (each fruit weighing at least 85 g) and its straw yellow flesh is particularly juicy and acidic, rich in vitamin C and minerals. The attractive pale yellow rind is of medium thickness and very fragrant due to the high content of essential oils. The variety is grown in all the municipalities of the Sorrento Peninsula, namely Massa Lubrense, Meta, Piano di Sorrento, Sant’Agnello, Sorrento, and Vico Equense, and also in the two municipalities of Capri and Anacapri on the island of Capri.
